Are You A Veteran Suffering From Hearing Loss?
Audiologists all over the country are being recruited to help with the testing and fitting of hearing aids for veterans through UK Veterans Hearing Foundation, and we want every veteran to receive the same level of service and experience in every visit.
Meduc8 is delighted to be given the opportunity to help with this. We offer training to all audiologists to ensure the highest level of service is provided at all times. The training includes subjects like : “How to ensure hearing aids are fitted correctly with important verification techniques”, “How to spot an ear infection” and “How to correctly perform ear swabbing (aural infection control)”.
Are Audiologists the only ones who can access this training?
No we will soon be offering a training course for audiology clinic receptionists too. With this, we can be sure that the veteran being seen is getting a gold standard service right from the start of their journey. With Meduc8’s connections to an amazing community of audiology practices, as well as an established occupational health provider, we can not only offer audiologists training via a classroom but also hands-on training in the real world!
Who delivers these courses?
These courses are currently written and delivered by Sarah-Jayne Cooke. She is an audiologist with over 15 years of experience and holds qualifications in several fields, including training, advanced audiology, aural infection control and customer relations. We have been operational since June 2019 and so far delivered several successful, high-quality courses with 5-star reviews.
As an audiologist, Sarah-Jayne recognises that training is essential to keep knowledge up to date, not only with ongoing changes to procedures and policies but to also keep the mind fresh. Therefore, training is an essential part of an audiologist’s day to day practice.
What courses do we offer?
Currently, we are only offering training in the audiology field and these courses are held at our head office in Hinckley, Leicestershire. However, we understand there are a lot of training areas that still need to be covered. These include general areas like leadership and customer service, the courses we currently have available cover base foundations for a good practice.
What are we doing for veterans?
Many veterans that we see have mental health concerns like PTSD and are also suffering from tinnitus, more than likely been caused by noise damage. We are looking to team up with other healthcare professionals to work alongside Sarah to ensure we can start offering mental health support and tinnitus treatment as soon as possible.
