Are You A Veteran Suffering From Hearing Loss?
The UK Veterans Hearing Foundation are here to help Veterans who served in the Merchant Navy with hearing support.
The Merchant seamen crewed the ships of Cargo ships, Container Ships and Cruise ships too, of the British Merchant Navy which kept the United Kingdom supplied with raw materials, arms, ammunition, fuel, food and all of the necessities of a nation at war throughout World War II enabling the country to defend itself.
The Seamen were onboard living which meant they where exposed to noise 24/7 they would be around machinery, engine rooms and scaling equipment causing a severe effect on their hearing. Many Seamen now suffer from tinnitus from the constant noise they were open to every day.
