Veterans with a hearing loss are eligible for funded hearing aids!

Veterans with a hearing loss are eligible for partial and fully funded hearing aids. Please see our table to find some funding sources we have as well as the criteria we work with. The UK Veterans Hearing Foundation accesses funding from many places who support veterans with their hearing health.

Over time we have developed strategies that allows us to work within the restrictions of certain charities funding criteria. However, we can also access funding from very unique places to help veterans that possibly wouldn’t get funding anywhere else!

There are two stages to access your funding.

Phase 1

Once the UK Veterans Hearing Foundation have received the Phase 1 application form this then allows us to start the Veterans application process. We have a nationwide network of audiologists, who work alongside us helping the Veterans get through their application for funded hearing support. Our job is to locate the audiologist within the Veterans area to book the Veteran in for a hearing test, and recommendation of hearing technology that the Veteran requires. Once the Veteran has had a hearing test, all the results return to us we then complete a Phase 2 for the Veteran.

Phase 2

What Phase 2 includes:

  • The hearing test results
  • The Veterans Medical History of their hearing
  • How their hearing was cased during their time in service
  • How their hearing is affecting them in everyday life
  • The technology recommendation from their audiologists
  • Costings and quotes for the hearing technology

The phase 2 is all completed and signed of by our clinical lead, for us to submit the application.

Our Clinical Lead makes sure the application is meeting all requirements for submission, this involves making sure the audiogram is completed to the correct standard, with an accurate recommendation of technology to meet the Veterans needs. Our Clinical Lead also checks if the Veteran if needed has had a medical referral by their audiologist, if this has not been carried out the clinical lead will put this forward to be done.

The Clinical Lead will also address if the Veteran suffers with tinnitus or any other medical conditions to do with their hearing and add this into their application.

Throughout their application process we keep in regular contact with the Veteran to update them on their application and we are in daily contact with our network of audiologists.

UK veterans have discovered they can get partial or even full funding for the latest treatments through our charity.

Once the application is fully approved, we will arrange for the aids to be ordered and set up an appointment at a convenient time for your fitting. The Hearing Technology provided is supplied with a three Year Guarantee & all hearing aids come with a three month exchange programme to ensure they are right for you! Once you have received your new hearing aids, we will continue to offer you support to ensure that you are provided with the best possible level of aftercare.
