Royal Artillery Veteran Fitted With Top Of The Range Hearing Aids.

Mr Robert Heard served in the Royal Artillery from 1961 to 1975. He was exposed to a lot of noise during this time.

Mr Heard has a high frequency sensori neural symmetrical loss which runs from mild in the low frequencies to severe/profound in the high frequencies.

Mr Heard struggled to hear the television, he had it on a high volume to watch his programe. Mr Heard struggled when he was in groups of people and had to ask people to repeat as he missed herd the conversation, he would lip read and speak loudly himself when socializing.

Mr Heard has now been fitted with  binaural Marvel M90 hearing aids because it will provide Mr Heard with the automated ability to change its settings according to the environment which otherwise he might struggle with. This platform recognizes and automatically adapts to precisely match more listening situations.

This technology will provide better speech understanding in noise and less listening effort which Mr Heard currently finds social situations quite stressful and exhausting. The hearing aids also have binaural directionality feature which streams the full audio bandwidth in real time and bidirectionally, tackling challenging listening situations by simulating what the brain does with sounds from both ears. This linking of the two hearing aids ensures that Mr Heard can benefit from hearing speech in both ears, especially in a noisy environment, on the phone or when he cannot face the speaker.  He currently uses subtitles on the television which the aids alone may not suffice therefore we have discussed the use of a tv streamer which we will fit for him, as he is not technologically minded.
