Woody's Lodge Respite Care
Woody’s Lodge is a Wales based Armed Forces Charity that offers safe and quiet social spaces for ex-service men and women and their families. We extend our support to those currently serving, those within the Armed Forces Reserves and now engage with the Emergency Services.
Currently based at two main hubs at The Amelia Farm, near Barry, South Wales and at Eirias Park, Colwyn Bay, North Wales, we wish to develop two further countryside sites in West and East Wales.
Support for Veterans
Woodys is also developing a network of urban based Drop-in-Centres for “town living” veterans, with seven sited in principal towns in North Wales and a further four to open in South Wales in 2020.Woody’s Support Officers specialise in enabling veterans to access benefits, pensions and housing, via one on one engagement where they support the individual/family through each stage of these often complicated processes until a successful outcome is achieved.A central part of their work leads them to engage with other Armed Forces Support, Public Support and Statutory Agencies, through this we are able to signpost our users to specialist organisations.

The scheme provides an award for organisations that pledge, demonstrate or advocate support to defence and armed forces community.
