Thanking the Veterans’ Foundation for helping veterans hear again

Veteran's Foundation Logo

The UK Veterans Hearing Foundation team would like to extend our heartfelt thanks to the Veterans’ Foundation for its continued support since 2020.

Over the years, the Veterans’ Foundation has been one of our regular and valued funders, helping us provide life-changing hearing support to veterans living with hearing loss, tinnitus, and the wider challenges these conditions can bring. Their support has gone beyond funding alone; the Veterans’ Foundation has shown a genuine passion for our charity; our beneficiaries and the work being carried out across the military community. Their continued belief in our mission has helped us reach more veterans who need specialist hearing care, improve access to support, and give them the chance to reconnect with daily life through better hearing.

Hearing loss is not a small inconvenience; for many veterans, it has affected confidence, family conversations, social life, independence, and mental well-being. With the support and continued belief in our missions from funders like the Veterans’ Foundation, we can bridge this gap and provide practical support to those who have served.

A continued commitment to the military community

The Veterans’ Foundation plays an important role when it comes to supporting organisations that collaborate directly with veterans, serving personnel and their families. The Veterans’ Foundation, as a grant-giving charity, helps fund projects across the UK that address the real needs of the Armed Forces community. This includes support for health and well-being, mental health, housing, homelessness, employment, education, family welfare, and community connection.

The support from UK Veterans’ Foundation for UK Veterans Hearing Foundation has helped make specialist hearing care more accessible to the veterans who may otherwise struggle to receive the right level of help. When it is service-related hearing loss and tinnitus, it can have a lasting impact. Exposure to loud noise during military service can leave veterans facing daily communication difficulties, constant ringing in the ears and feelings of isolation. Hearing becomes harder, and staying connected to loved ones, work, hobbies, and community life as a whole can be challenging. Hence, continued funding matters; it helps charities like us to provide support that is not only practical but also deeply personal.

Who are the Veterans’ Foundation?

The Veterans’ Foundation was established to support members of the Armed Forces community who need help. Through its grants, the charity funds organisations that provide direct support to serving and former members of the Armed Forces, as well as operationally qualified seafarers and their immediate families. Since its launch, the Veterans’ Foundation has grown into a major source of funding for charities and organisations working across the military sector. In 2026, the charity marked 10 years of support and announced that it had awarded more than £37 million to organisations helping veterans, serving personnel and families. This funding has helped frontline charities deliver vital support in areas where help is needed the most.

One of the keyways the Veterans’ Foundation raises funds is through the Veterans’ Lottery. This was launched in July 2016 to create a long-term source of funding for members of the UK’s Armed Forces and veterans in need. The Veterans’ Lottery is licensed and regulated in Great Britain by the Gambling Commission. Supporters join via a £10 monthly direct debit, with the draw held on the last day of each month, and winners are contacted directly by phone or email, and results are shared through the Veterans’ Foundation. By playing the Veterans’ Lottery, supporters help generate funds that the Veterans’ Foundation can award to charities and organisations working across the Armed Forces community.

Every ticket helps support projects that improve lives, including charities like UK Veterans Hearing Foundation.

At the UK Veterans Hearing Foundation, this support can help fund hearing tests, advanced hearing aids, tinnitus support, aftercare, and ongoing guidance for veterans living with hearing difficulties. The veterans who receive this support, this impact can be life changing. It will be better hearing for them, which means joining family conversations again, feeling more confident in social settings, enjoying television or music, hearing loved ones clearly and feeling less cut off from the world around them.

The impact of Veterans’ Foundation support

They support a wide range of organisations and charities that help them fill important gaps across the military community. Starting with health and well-being, to housing, employment, family support and mental health, their funding helps specialist charities reach those who need extra support. At the UK Veterans Hearing Foundation, we can see the difference this kind of support can make. Hearing loss and tinnitus are often invisible; however, their impact can be felt every day. They can make simple conversations tiring, reduce confidence, affect family life and leave veterans feeling isolated.

The support from the Veterans’ Foundation, UKVHF, has enabled us to continue helping veterans access specialist hearing care, including hearing assessments and advanced hearing aids, as well as tinnitus support, aftercare, and ongoing guidance. This support gives veterans the chance to hear more clearly, communicate with confidence and feel more connected to the people and activities they care about.

You can see the impact of this support through our beneficiary success stories, where veterans share how specialist hearing support has helped them reconnect with daily life.
